About Me
I am a graduate of The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC, and a member of the DC Bar. While I have been fascinated by constitutional law, criminal law and contracts, my main interest is in the intersection of law and the provision of medical care.
My goal is to find a career that will allow me to draw from both my experience as a healthcare provider and my legal training to help improve the quality of patient care and of physician-patient relationships. I am particularly interested in policy considerations behind liability and immunity schemes, the formation and termination of physician-patient relationships, prescription regulations, HIT (both enterprise- and consumer-grade) and privacy/confidentiality issues.
Some specific areas of interest are:
- Medical Malpractice
- EMTALA (specifically screening & treatment requirements)
- Medical Ethics
- HIPAA (especially as applies to providers)
- Pharma/Biotech/Med Device regulation
